A SPIRITUAL VIEW OF REDEMPTION (Continued)
ISAIAH 53: 4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
"With His stripes we are healed!"
Proverbs 20:30 contains a snapshot of the how Jesus’ stripes healed us. It reads, "The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so [do] stripes the inward parts of the belly." The blueness of a wound as used in this verse also means bruise, stripe, wound, or blow. Carefully note that wisdom says this blueness cleanseth away evil. The word cleaseth as used here is translated purification found only in the Book of Esther (2:12). Pause to meditate on the wonderful Plan of God in preparing a Bride for His only begotten Son! By His stripes, His scourging, blows, and wounds we are healed!
And [one] shall say unto him, What [are] these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, [Those] with which I was wounded [in] the house of my friends_ Zechariah 13:6." "The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side: and be not faithless, but believing _ John 20:25,27."
We are healed! Praise the Lord, we are whole, free of disease, and free of sin! Believe it and live!
