THE MEASURE OF CHRIST’S STATURE
And this [is the fashion] which thou shalt make it [of]: The length of the ark [shall be] three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits._Genesis 6:15
Above is an excerpt of God’s instructions to Noah for the building of the ark. The ark represents a vessel of safety as a result of a work in righteousness. The length, breadth and height have specific dimensions. Every believer can see an overcoming view of himself in Christ Jesus through these measurements of the ark. In Christ, the length of 300 cubits guarantees victory from the start! Remember Gideon’s 300? They speak to victory in conflict. The breadth of 50 cubits indicates a life led by God’s Spirit. The number 50 means Pentecost or the coming of the Holy Spirit. Lastly, the height of 30 cubits speaks to maturity. Thirty represents maturity. For example, David began to reign at age 30 (2 Sam. 5:4) and “Jesus began to be about age 30.”(Luke 3:23)
We rest in Christ as grow up into the measure of His stature (Eph. 4:13). Hebrews 11:7 reads, “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” Sounds so much like Christ and His righteous work!
