THE SIGNIFICANCE OF David’s MOVEMENTS WHILE ON THE RUN FROM SAUL – JUDAH
Reading: 1 Samuel 22:5a And the prophet Gad said unto David, Abide not in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah…
Judah means praised. It is important to see why God sent a prophet named Gad to David at this time. Gad’s name means a troop cometh.
Of the patriarch Gad it was decreed, “Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.” Here then is an overcomer that praises from the experience of the Power of an endless
life. John 16:33 reads, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the
world.” 1 John 4:4 empowers the believer with the following, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
Jesus Christ became the Ultimate Praise unto the Father by being obedient unto death even the death of the Cross. “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that
is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name._Hebrews 13:15.”
