NAAMAN’S RECOVERY (Continued)
Scripture Reading: II Kings Chapter 5
Upon receipt of the letter from the king of Syria, the king of Israel responded in a most profound way. 2 Kings 5:7 reads, "And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, [Am] I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy?"_ How the precious Gospel of Jesus Christ, His death, burial and resurrection ring out and come alive in his words! "From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day._ Matthew 16:21." "I [am] he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death._ Revelation 1:18." "And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive._ Revelation 2:8." This king was keenly aware that only the True God of Israel was able to grant the king of Syria’s request. To heal leprosy, which speaks to sin, requires the death and resurrection of a Sinless Sacrifice! Glory to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
