LIFE OR DEATH
CONDITIONS FOR A DEATH-DENYING MIRACLE
As we seek to apprehend the eternal greatness of Resurrection Power, we shall go through each miracle where Jesus raised the dead again and again, each time being privileged to a unique aspect of Jesus’ Power. Be mindful dear reader that when done, we will have only tapped meagerly into His unsearchable riches. This statement reflects on our finite abilities rather than the infinite Wisdom of God.
Every Word uttered and every Act committed by our Lord Jesus Christ contained astonishing truth and power for the life of the believer. Such astonishment is not meant to simply awe us as today’s watered-down term suggests, but rather to convince us to exchange our minds for His. The Greek word, existemi, used to describe the astonishing acts of Christ literally means to be put out of one’s mind. Our English word ecstasy is derived from its noun form. Let us now enter into this Divine Entrancement as we glimpse what Jesus has done for us and as us through the Mind of God.
Reading: Mark 5: 21-24
5:21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.
5:22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
5:23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: [I pray thee], come and lay thy hands on her, that she April be healed; and she shall live.
5:24 And [Jesus] went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
It is critical to our understanding to see first of all the conditions that had to be met in order for Jesus to raise Jairus’ daughter.
Jairus approached the Master for help in the proper manner. He worshipped the Lord and then made his faith-filled request known. The level of his faith is easily gauged in his certainty
of her recovery from the point of death simply by Jesus coming laying His Hands on her. Once Jesus determined to go with Jairus, her healing was unstoppable even by death.
