Scripture Reading:  Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:  And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. _ Exodus 12: 4-5

Jesus is the lamb without blemish taken from among the sheep.  He did no sin neither was guile found in His mouth (1Peter 2:22).  He became sin for us.  Not since Adam before the Fall was there a man who was alive both spiritually and physically.  Jesus identified in every way with humanity and was tempted in every way, yet remained sinless.  He was obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross.  Isaiah the prophet said His name shall be called Immanuel, which means God with us.  God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19).

The Gospel of Mark gives an account of Jesus before Pilate.  The chief priests influenced the people that Pilate should release Barabbas unto them instead of Jesus.  When Pilate asked what should be done with Jesus, they cried out for Him to be crucified.  The whole congregation of Israel participated in His killing.  With the sovereign power of God at work, a Way was made back to His holy presence and favor for us.  Isaiah declares that Father shall see the travail of His soul and be satisfied.  Father’s satisfaction is in His Son.  The position of our inner man is in Christ, with Whom Father is well pleased or satisfied.
