"...proving that this is very Christ." _ Acts 9:22
"...proving that this is very Christ." _ Acts 9:22

The above question can only be answered truly by the believer for it is a matter of the heart and its relationship to the Lord.  Unfortunately, many have been deluded to believe He is gone away even when His Presence is certain.   Some say, "Christ is in heaven, but His Spirit is with us here," as though His Spirit were somehow not He Himself.  2 Corinthians 5:16 reads, "Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more."  Another question needing answered then is, "Who is the Lord?"  The question is also answered in 2 Corinthians 3:17 which reads, "Now the Lord is that Spirit." He is right here working with us as we go forth preaching His Gospel.   In the last verse of Mark’s Gospel, it reads, "And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word with signs following." (This was after His Ascension!)

There is a wonderful difference between ascending and departing as we know it from a natural perspective.  Because Christ is out of natural sight does not mean He is gone away spiritually.  He ascended by spiritual means, and His "return" must be spiritually discerned.  Why stand physically gazing at the sky?  As we ascend in faith by His Spirit while growing up into His fullness, we find His Presence to be more intense.   This glorious experience confirms that, like the Apostle Paul said, He has raised us up together with Him to sit in heavenly places in Himself.  The real question to be answered in every heart is, "Am I here or gone away with Him!"  "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus:"- Ephesians 2:5-6.
