CHRIST, OUR MOUTH AND WISDOM

It is always glorious to glean among the unsearchable riches of Christ. He often lies camouflaged in His own Words, but His Spirit unveils one awesome aspect of Himself after another to the eyes and ears of the searching heart.  My husband, Paul, loves the Lord so much and heard Him say one day concerning the Scriptures, “See Me on every page.” Embracing Paul’s personal nugget as my own, I have found this promise to be so wondrously true.  Not only are we able to see the Lord by the Spirit but also how He has so totally given Himself to the believer.

For today’s example, let us see Jesus the Christ as the response to persecution, betrayal and hatred. Luke 21:14 - 15 reads, “Settle [it] therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”  The word mouth is also translated as edge of the sword which is compared to the Word of God. The Word of God became flesh as Christ Jesus. He has been made unto us wisdom.   This fact is seen clearly in First Corinthians 1:30 which states in part, “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom...”  Word and Wisdom coupled in Christ!

Christ said He will give us a mouth and wisdom. Proverb 18:4 reads, “The words of a man's mouth [are as] deep waters, [and] the wellspring of wisdom [as] a flowing brook.” The sounds of His Life with Its mysteries unfolding flow from this verse. Deep water speaks to that which is unsearchable and mysterious, while a wellspring is a fountain of life flowing or uttering. “I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old. – Psalm 78:2”  This Living Fountain within! May we allow Christ to speak through us in response to all that is adversarial being certain that He will confound all our enemies making it impossible for them to resist.

Have a happy, blessed and enviable day in Him!
