PRESSING INTO THE KINGDOM (Continued)
Scripture Reading I Corinthians 15:53-58
15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality.
15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall
have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ.
15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the
Lord.
We have eternal life in God’s Son. When we accept the death of our old man, and receive the life of Christ, our bodies are no longer earthy graves for Adam. Through the eternal life of Christ Jesus, the sting of death is no more. We are no longer sinners. We are new creatures born after the Spirit. A way into God’s presence has been made for us. If we were still sinners after receiving Christ, how could we ever enter His presence? We must see ourselves as God see us through His Son. We have been made alive unto God by Christ. Let us give thanks to God for this eternal victory through Christ Jesus our Lord.
“Beloved brethren” is a term for those accepted into the beloved. We are no more foreigners but citizens of heaven. Let us remain steadfast and unmovable. That means we do not allow the adversary to corrupt our minds from the simplicity in Christ. We have put on the mind of Christ. It becomes easier to do so as we accept the fact that the life we now live is by the faith of the Son of God. Our only labor is to enter His rest and be assured that it is not in vain. Receive His life of power and live in the Spirit through the power of His might. That is the truth of abounding always in the work of the Lord. It is finished!
