PRESSING INTO THE KINGDOM (Continued)
Scripture Reading I Corinthians 15:20-23
15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that
are Christ's at his coming.
It is a present truth that Christ is risen from the dead and has become the firstfruits of them that slept. Firstfruits belong to God alone. Firstfruits speak to the best, choicest, and the tithe. If the Church could get a revelation of firstfruits, there would never be another teaching necessary on tithes and offerings. Firstfruits are something we have become by virtue of our position in Christ. As a tithe unto God, we should never give less than our best for His service whether it is our time, ability, or finances.
Death came by Adam’s disobedience. Death is a nature we all inherited just by being born in this world. No matter how godly our parents were,
we were still by nature the children of disobedience. The only way out of that spiritual death is by accepting our death in the Cross of Christ and by receiving His life. We were
quickened or made alive together with Christ according to Colossians 2:13. We have a choice of heart to either remain dead in Adam or be made alive in Christ. Will your “own
order” be today if you have not already received Jesus Christ as Lord of your life?
