APRIL 2nd
Enter Into His Rest (Continued)
My husband, Paul, so aptly stated once, “What if we stop saying, "What would Jesus do?" and start acting on what Jesus did? Herein April lie the problem for many because of a lack of understanding of what Jesus did. In order to rest, we must get an understanding of what Jesus did and act on it. Jesus, the Christ of God, knew no sin but became sin for us. Through complete obedience to the will of the Father, He went to the Cross and became a curse so that He could do away with the force of sin that separated us from God.
By becoming the very curse that held us captive, we were drawn into Him. Just as the serpent on the pole, He fully identified with sinful nature. Dying physically and spiritually, the Lamb of God reversed the curse with His atoning Blood. His death was our death. Death could not hold Him and with Resurrection Power He was raised from the dead with all power. He completely destroyed the works of the devil. When He was raised from the dead, we were raised with Him, as He was the Head of a new creation. There was no longer only the old Adamic nature. Christ, the last Adam and the life-giving Spirit brought forth a new nature.
We act on what Jesus did by making Him Lord of our lives and following Him. His death was our death and His life is our life. The problem arises when we live our lives apart from Him. Again, His life is our life or stated differently, He lives His life through us. It is not He and us living in the temple that we are, but rather, He along with Father abiding within us. His life is a total existence in complete obedience to the plan and will of God. There was never an instance where Jesus did what He wanted to do, but He did only what He saw and heard Father do and say. The work is finished! Enter into His rest for it is a rest driven by resurrection power! No force can stand against such power and authority! April I impose one last time? Believe in Him that we April have life and that more abundantly.
