DIED WITH CHRIST
“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”_ Colossians 3:3
Sobering! The fact is that the Adamic nature was completely taken out in the Cross of Jesus Christ. Yes, the carnal, sensual, earthy nature of man was crucified. That man ceases to exist more and more within us as Christ is magnified and given His rightful place within our hearts. “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him [shall] the gathering of the people [be].”_ Genesis 49:10. Shiloh means “he whose it is.” The root of its meaning is “rest or to prosper.” A people after the Spirit are being gathered unto our Lord to worship God in spirit and in truth. We are dead to self and alive unto God forevermore.
Jesus prayed in John Chapter17 that we would be one with Him and Father. His prayer has been answered because of His obedience unto death, even the death of the Cross. Our lives are hidden with Him in God. This becomes a reality within and without as we progress in His stature and die to self. My beloved pastor, Gary Garner, who is present with the Lord, once said, “We do not need more of Christ; we need less of us.” Amen!
