RAHAB: A PICTURE OF SALVATION OF THE SOUL (Continued)
Joshua 2: 2-3 "And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country. And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country."
The king of Jericho is a type of the first Adam or the fallen man who wants to sit in the temple that we are as though he is God. We are the temple of the Most High God. Notice how the king of Jericho knows their location and wanted to immediately remove the messengers (message) from her house. I am reminded at this point of the Parable of the Sower and Soils (Matthew 13:1-23; Mark 4:1-20; and Luke 8:4-15). Remember, "When the seed of the Word is sown, then cometh the wicked one." The wicked one is always alerted when true messengers of God are sent to believers. Think about it for a moment. Would there be anything abnormal or unusual about men lodging at a harlot’s house? The difference here is these men are abnormal and unusual. They are heavenly and not earthly; spiritual and not sensual; godly and not devilish. Oh that we may know the difference.
" Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country. The Spirit searcheth all things! The Adamic nature does not want the invasion of true messengers of Joshua (Jesus). The carnal man knows precisely that any true messenger of God will testify of Jesus Christ and that means certain death to carnality. May the Holy Spirit show your inner man the power and immediate effectiveness of His true message.
