CONSIDER YOUR WAYS (Continued)

Haggai 1:6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.

Haggai further prophesied, “ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink.” Christ Jesus is the Bread of Life, and he said in John 6:35, “...he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” From where does the lack in the Body comes?  Our sufficiency is in Christ. Haggai went on to say, ye clothe you, but there is none warm.   This is not a carnal fashion statement!   This is about a life in Christ where believers are clothed upon by Him. Matthew 6:30 reads, “Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith?”

Haggai further said, “...he that earneth wages earneth wages [to put it] into a bag with holes.  There is so much emphasis on sowing and reaping with a mindset that financial gain and material goods are the return.  What a travesty for a believer. In John’s Gospel, Chapter 4, Jesus was asked by his disciples if he was hungry. Jesus told them that He had meat they knew not of. He then began to speak a parable to them concerning a ready harvest. He said, He that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. Live in the Spirit for the harvest is waiting. There is meat that is only found in our Lord. Reap, receive your wages, and rejoice together as one with Christ!
