THE SABBATH DAY HEALINGS OF JESUS OF NAZARETH (Continued)

HEALING OF PETER’S WIFE’S MOTHER (Continued)

Continuing with the healing of Simon’s wife’s mother let us be reminded that the Body is meant to be powered by God’s very Spirit Essence versus a constant diet of law. Again, the letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life! Upon entering the house, Jesus saw this woman laid and sick of a fever. The word for "laid" literally means laid out for death or turned over to one’s care unsure of the outcome. In other words, her condition was no light thing. Stated differently, she is a picture of a church that is unable to minister.

A fever means there is a problem of hidden disease in the body. All things are naked and open before our Lord. As the Living Word moving in the fullness of the Spirit, Jesus’ one action resulted in multiple results for this woman who now pictures a delivered Church. First, Matthew, the Gospel which depicts Christ Jesus as King of kings, states that He touched her hand. The Greek word for touch means a token of agreement. The Token of Agreement or true token (Joshua 2:12) still carried Its unchanging, powerful meaning from Rahab’s window to Peter’s house. The Scarlet Line which received Its true meaning from the Lamb slain from foundation of the world and Resurrection Power of Almighty God was flowing within Jesus of Nazareth. One touch to the hand from the King signaled a token of agreement to this woman’s being. The fever rendered her unable to minister yet one Noble Touch of deliverance to her hand, which speaks of her service, caused her to arise and minister!

Secondly, Mark’s Gospel which depicts Christ Jesus Mark captures the ministry of Christ Jesus as the Suffering Servant, the Holy Sacrifice for our sins. Jesus took her by the hand, and lifted her up. Jesus said, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me_ John 12:32." The Bible states the He said this signifying what death he should die. The Apostle Paul learned a powerful truth after meeting the Resurrected Christ face to face. As it pleased God to reveal His Son in Paul, he wrote to the Galatians, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (2:20)." The Holy Spirit encrypted this great Truth again as Jesus took Peters mother-in-law by the hand, and lifted her up.

We were crucified together with Christ! We were raised together with Him also as confirmed in Colossians 3:1 which reads, "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God." Remember, that Jesus Christ is the Word of God, and at Peter’s house that day, He was fulfilling Himself. God’s Word did not return to Him void but accomplished all that He pleased. The result of Jesus, the Holy Sacrifice, taking Peter’s mother-in-law by the hand and lifting her up was immediate, and the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.
