Galatians 5:16 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit._Galatians 5:25
John 4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.
To walk in the Spirit means to live or regulate one’s life as one with God. Christ Jesus, the Son of God has made this possible through Redemption. As we make our way or progress to the measure of the stature of Christ’s fullness, we must remain in the Spirit thereby denying the flesh. First Corinthians 6:17 declares that our renewed spirits are joined to the Lord as one. A life of victory and power is impossible apart from God. Attempting such a life apart from the Spirit may be compared to attempting to exist physically without oxygen. It is precisely that serious!
Many have tried to figure out the ways of God on their own, but First Corinthians 2:14 tells us, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.” Ephesians 5:8 encouragingly demands us to be filled with the Spirit.
Christ Jesus gave a very simple formula for receiving the Spirit of God in Luke 11:13. He simply said, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” There you have it! Simply ask and believe you have received Him. Call on Him and trust Him! Live!
