"...proving that this is very Christ." _ Acts 9:22

MARCH 23rd
CHRIST OUR PASSOVER

Scripture Reading:  Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth._     1 Corinthians 5:7-8

Jesus is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8).  The above verses remind us that there is a feast of Passover still kept but not as the old.  The feast today is purely spiritual because we know the blood of bulls and goats could not take away sins (Hebrew 10:4).  Christ Jesus took away sins once for all.  To understand Christ Jesus and our great Gospel is to understand the example of Passover of Exodus 12:1-20.  Light in His fullness removes all shadows and types that we may behold the True.   Below each verse from Exodus 12: 1-20 is brought into the Focus of the Spirit to help our understanding.

Exodus 12:1  And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,  This month shall be unto you the beginning of months:  it shall be the first month of the year to you.

When we say a forever yes to Jesus Christ and accept Him as our Savior and believe with in our hearts that God hath raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved (Romans 10:9,10).  The day we accept Jesus as Lord, it is a new beginning or beginning of months  for us.  Old things are passed away and all things are become new.  No matter what happened in our past, accepting Jesus Christ as Lord marks a new beginning.

Exodus 12:2-3  Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying,  In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

When John the Baptist was baptizing, he saw Jesus coming and said “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29).  In the Old Testament, every man had to partake of the lamb for himself according to the Passover instructions.  The same is true today.  Every person has to receive Christ Jesus for him- or herself.  God instructed Moses to speak unto all the congregation of Israel. Today, the message is to spiritual Israel which includes all and no one is excluded.
