INTO HIS FULLNESS

Scripture Reading: Psalm 63:5 "My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:"

A satisfied soul is one that sees all thing fulfilled in Christ! At the time David wrote this passage, he was in a forest in the land of Judah carefully placed out of the reach of his enemy by God. Instead of complaining or worrying about his circumstances, he praised God with a song.

Marrow and fatness speak of fullness. Jeremiah 31:14 reads, "And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD." In the New Covenant, God’s goodness to His people is seen in Paul’s prayer to the church at Ephesus in Ephesians 3:14-19 which states, " For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."

Paul also told the Ephesian church how Christ Jesus ascended on high and gave gifts to men to equip the saints and for the work of ministry "till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ _Ephesians 4:13." Too many believers have allowed a level of satisfaction that is far short of Christ’s fullness. His fullness is attainable because God hath declared it, and Christ Jesus has fulfilled it.
