CHRIST OUR PASSOVER (Continued)

Scripture Reading:  Exodus 12: 7-9
And they shall eat the flesh in that night roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

The bitter herbs speak to true repentance when a sincere believer approaches God for salvation.  When a heart is truly repentant, the direction a person was going is changed.  Lip service will not bring the kingdom of God into our lives.  We find God when we search for Him wholeheartedly.  It is written, "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see (or experience) God."  For instance, when the Ethiopian eunuch asked Philip what hindered him to be baptized after hearing the Gospel, Philip responded by the Spirit that he must believe with all his heart.  An emotional response to an altar call is not necessarily the result of heart that is truly repentant.  One thing is certain and that is our God knows the heart.
